4-27-20 Thoughts

Good Monday morning to all my loved ones.  I guess I’m not finished with yesterday’s sermon.
A Time For Action was its title.  I find myself needing PERSEVERANCE in
                  CONTINUING TO DO WHAT I KNOW I NEED TO DO!
Rom 2:7    to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;
Gal 6:9    Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
2Thes 3:13  But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good.
Then my study took me to some words of Jesus as he gives the sense of the Parable Of The Sower: in Luke 8:14b we read
“these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.”   [they go about their lives worrying about tomorrow, making money, and having fun.   MB]
READ THE LARGER CONTEXT:
Luke 8:11-15        "Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God. 12  "Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved. 13  "Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away. 14  "The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity. [they go about their lives worrying about tomorrow, making money, and having fun.   MB]   15  "But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.
Verse 15 gives a plan of action for life!
I must HEAR god’s WORD...   I must be sure to keep my HEART HONEST & GOOD...  I must HOLD it [God’s Word] FAST...  I must BEAR FRUIT...  I must KEEP ON KEEPING ON!

My Prayer:
Oh God of eternity, our lives are a mere vapor in your eyes.  Help us to see life in that way. May we see you and eternity and our short time. Cause us to live with YOU as our focus.  Help us to yearn for your mind and pursue it expecting a blessing.  Help us to hold fast your word in our hearts.   Father, may we live what we know!  May we keep on living what is in our hearts about your mind.  Help us to be good children Father.
                  In Jesus name                   Amen
